Stores Operative Job
Kingston upon Hull
Vacancy - Stores operative
Full time - 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, overtime when necessary,
and involvement in the Group stocktake held one Saturday every month
The ideal candidate will have some stores and inventory control experience.
They will have good self-motivation skills and a methodical approach to organising and problem solving.
They must be computer literate and experience of SAP is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The Position’s job description includes but is not limited to the following duties:
Involvement in the day to day running of a very busy stores including the issuing and receiving of stock.
Taking delivery of goods and supplies.
Checking for damaged or missing items.
Sorting and grading stock.
Moving Stock around either by hand, using lifting gear or a forklift truck
Picking and packing orders for both internal departments and sites or external customers.
Material ordering and use of a computerised purchase order system.
Maintaining computer records on the company stock system.
Understanding and adhering to current legislation, with health and safety in mind at all times. To liaise with colleagues in other departments. Follow company policy procedures and documentation in compliance with the company’s BSI system.
Drivers licence and an up-to-date Forklift truck licence would be advantageous.
