The St Luke’s Sports Centre is an integral part of the multi million pound investment in sport at the University of Exeter. Facilities include a newly refurbished fitness room, alongside a swimming pool and multi-use games areas. Exeter Sport are currently ranked 5th in the British Universities and Colleges Sport League and were awarded the Sports University of the Year in 2016/17.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our operations team as a Recreation Assistant at the St Luke’s Sports Centre on a permanent basis. The position involves working on average 36.5 hours a week on a shift rotation including evenings and weekends in a busy and exciting environment, starting immediately. Applicants may also be required to work at our other facilities including our top class Sports Ground in Topsham and our outdoor swimming pool that is open through the summer on the Streatham Campus.
As a first point of contact for our customers you will be required to work on reception, complete set ups, and lifeguard. You will also work as part of our team to ensure that facilities are clean, safe and well presented at all times. You will also be an integral part of the student experience and work with the many varied and diverse sports clubs, classes and activities that take place at the University.
Experience of working in a similar environment and dealing with a varied cross-section of customers is desirable along with an awareness of health and safety issues. Applicants are required to hold a current Lifeguarding Qualification.
