About SLC

Student Loans Company is a non-profit making Government-owned organisation set up in 1989 to provide loans and grants to students in universities and colleges in the UK. We are responsible, in partnership with Local Authorities in England and Wales, the Student Awards Agency for Scotland, the Education and Library boards in Northern Ireland, the Higher Education Institutions and HM Revenue & Customs, for student support delivery in the UK.

Purpose of the Role:

·To provide day to day management of all of SLC’s assets

·To provide a first line maintenance service

·To coordinate maintenance activities with service providers (Non TFM and TFM)

·To carryout Location PPM’s, Water checks in accordance with Legionella ACOP and Monitor M&E PPM’s

Accountabilities:

·To perform routine Locations based PPM inspections within our premises

·To co-ordinate maintenance requests from the Business and ensure that suppliers (including TFM) are contacted to effect service visits and information is communicated within Facilities

·To ensure appropriate Permits to Work, Method Statements and Risk Assessments are provided by contractors and are controlled on site for non TFM and TFM providers

·To authorise/co-ordinate all service providers on site to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Maintenance Requirements for non TFM and TFM providers and to arrange access with the Business and follow any internal SLC processes e.g. ICT Change process

·To co-ordinate with TFM ROC reactive calls and sign off when completed

·To liaise with the various service providers (including the TFM) to ensurethat the various PPM’s are completed as per the requirements of the contacts

·To assess and carry out repairs/maintenance where possible to SLC fixtures and fittings at Other sites

·To manage the electronic asset tracking procedure for all SLC furniture and equipment

·To update asset drawings and inventory lists as required

·To assist in all physical moves of furniture and equipment

·To carry out various checks in line with requirements of Legionella ACOP

Key Outputs:

·Update the electronic asset management system following furniture/equipment

moves

·To update all asset drawings following changes to office layouts

·To maintain the PPM schedules to ensure that all statutory compliance is dealt with in
a timeous manner

·To carry out minor electrical and plumbing repairs as required

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

·Fully computer literate

·Experienced in joinery, electrical and plumbing repairs

·Good communication skills.

·PAT testing certification

·Experience in a similar environment
