Production Operator Job
Bideford, Devon
Salary: £7.20 per hour

Production Operator

Days are 7.45 am – 4.30 pm – Monday to Thursday and 7.45 am – 12.45 pm Fridays. 

Alternating shift – One week – 6.00 am – 2.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6.00 am – 12.00 pm Fridays Next Week – 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 12.00pm – 6.00 pm Fridays. 

Overall Role Purpose: To manufacture, fill and pack product to a given specification and standard on time and in full. Maintain the production operating area to the correct GMP standard.

Key Accountabilities


  • Manufacture the product to the correct standard to meet the specification.
  • Fill, pack and prepare product as required.
  • Maintain line speed and efficiency as directed by the Production Controller in order to meet the production plan.


  • Ensure product quality is maintained in accordance with instructions for the product.
  • Identify any product that fails to meet the standard set and immediately bringing it to the attention of the Production Controller

GMP and Housekeeping

  • Maintain personal and line GMP in accordance with training at all time.
  • Complete line set up and line clearance as directed.
  • Ensure line clearance and production housekeeping is maintained as directed by the Production Controller.

Health, Safety and Training

  • Ensure that all safety instructions are understood and followed at all times.
  • Ensure that all Personal Protective equipment is serviceable and used in accordance with instructions.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of others around you is upheld at all times
  • Report any anomalies regarding safety of yourself, others or the production line/ area.

Decision Making Authority/Mandates/Constraints

  • Identify Quality issues and inform Production Controller immediately when seen.
  • Observed GMP throughout production area and report any failings seen to a member of Management, Supervisors or Production Controller.

Competencies - Necessary role related knowledge, skills and experience at selection

  • Good problem solving.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and self-motivation as needed
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good time keeping and ability to work well with others.
