We are an established, respected and successful Manufacturer based in the Avonmouth area of Bristol. We are currently looking for a Production manager / Manufacturing team leader. There is progression potential within this expanding organsiation.

Job title: Production manager / Manufacturing team leader
Salary: £ 35 - 40k
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm (2pm finish Friday)
Benefits: 25 rising to 30 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, bonus
Location: Bristol BS11
Duration: Permanent

The Production manager / Manufacturing team leader role will report to the manufacturing and engineering operations manager and will have responsibility for running a production area with around 15 -20 operatives and a range of production machinery and equipment ensuring quality standards are maintained and production targets and KPI's are achieved.

The Production manager / Manufacturing team leader must be able to demonstrate a high level of people management skills, communicate at all levels and work hands on to achieve process, quality and cultural improvements. Knowledge of risk assessments and health and safety are integral to the role.

In addition the Production manager / Manufacturing team leader will be involved in material control and some purchasing as well as assisting with planning of work schedules, making the most efficient use of the employees and the machines under their control while driving and utilising continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools and activities.

Candidates must possess relevant skills and experience in relevant manufacturing environments so knowledge of modern and lean manufacturing techniques are essential. Any experience in the sheet metal, metal working, panel, partition walling, insulating or and similar process driven industries would be of particular interest.

Competency in Microsoft Office skills is essential but any MRP/SAP/SAGE type systems knowledge would be useful although this can be taught. Experience of ISO 9001:2008 quality systems, processes and auditing knowledge are also important skills for the successful candidate.

The ideal Production manager / Manufacturing team leader could be educated from City and Guilds (or equivalent qualification) through to degree level in a manufacturing, production or engineering related discipline.
