Starting salary: £28,936 - £33,518 per annum pro rata with further progression opportunities to £36,613

The Faculty of Media and Communications is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to undertake a significant role in the review and evaluation of the societal and economic impact of our research. Based in the National Centre for Computer Animation this is an opportunity for a competent researcher to undertake work to understand the impact of our research in the area of Computer Animation theory and practice.
You will work with staff in the Faculty and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office to plan and deliver the investigation, evaluation and demonstration of the impact of our research. Our key areas of research impact include technical research in the mathematics and technologies that enable artistic practices in Computer Graphics and Visual Effects, as well as practice-led and -based artefacts in the discipline area. You will contribute to Bournemouth University’s reputation as a world leading centre for research in this emerging discipline area. You will be responsible for building upon previous and current activities to identify, plan and develop impact for both established and emerging research projects, with a focus on collecting and collating evidence of impact, dissemination of research findings and developing and supporting innovative forms of public and stakeholder engagement.
You will have demonstrable research experience in a related subject area, as well as practical experience in the development of impact in research projects. You will need to be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative as well as in a team. You will need highly developed communication skills and be able to work under pressure.
The post is available on a 24-month fixed term contract basis.
This post is available part-time for 0.5 FTE.
