The company was established in May 2012 with the assistance of Finance Birmingham, who are a subsidiary of Birmingham City Council. Our aim is to provide people solutions to clients who require skilled, reliable and transient workforces. Underpinning this aim is their commitment to safety and a service that is valued by all stakeholders.

Their high quality service guarantee is fully supported by our Management and Directors, who are all qualified to either IOSH or NEBOSH level, and have extensive experience in delivering high volume and complex solutions to the built and railway environments.

The group is growing both organically through Auctus Workforce Solutions (AWS), Auctus Training Solutions and Auctus Apprenticeship Training Agency and through acquisition, purchasing Rail Safety Solutions Ltd (RSS) outright in May 2012. They intend to grow and develop each group member company by delivering excellent service solution first time, every time.

The Role
As a NVQ Assessor/Trainer you will deliver a high end of Safety Critical Training and workplace assessments on a flexible basis. This includes delivery of NVQ Levels 2 and 3, Apprenticeships and technical training for trainee rail workers. You will be liaising and supporting learners to ensure they reach their full potential within the time and funding allocated, whilst supporting the existing workforce to ensure re-certification and other mandatory training is delivered in a timely fashion to ensure full compliance with regulations and legislation at all times.

Main Duties of the role will include:

  • Deliver Training Courses and Workplace Assessments in line with Sentinel Rules, Industry Line and Company Standards, Group Standards, and Current Protocols and Specifications. Mentor existing workforce to ensure compliance with regulations/standards and legislation.
  • Maintain competence in-line with current standards by either online exams or assessments.
  • Prepare and complete all course paperwork when required to do so.
  • Familiarise with all method statements for trackside training.
  • Liaison with training administrator where necessary.
  • Prepare all training rooms, visual aids and assessment materials in line with training plans.
  • Ensure all training/assessment plans are up to date in line with current issue.
  • Maintain a record of Continuous Personal Development CPD.
  • Log in to the Sentinel database at least twice a year to ensure skills are kept up to date. Ensure that evidence is retained and included in CPD.
  • Ensure track visit requirements are met and all resources required are adequate before/after use.
  • Attend training meetings when required.
  • Undertake verification activities in line with current system in accordance with sampling plan.

The Candidate
To be considered for their NVQ Assessor/Trainer position you will have the following attributes and qualities:

  • Good level of written and spoken communication
  • Must be competent in the use of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Internet and email.
  • NVQ Level 3 of 7597 (Rail Working) and A1 Assessor Qualification or TAQA
  • You must hold a full, UK driving licence
