At our mill in Sudbury, Suffolk we specialise in the Jacquard weaving of innovative fabrics for Men’s and Ladies’ apparel and neckwear. As we approach our 300-year anniversary we combine artisan skills with the latest technology. We create custom designs, bespoke woven fabrics from noble fibres, including silk, cashmere and linen. Are you looking for an opportunity to work within a small team selling beautiful fashion and luxury furnishing fabrics and a range of handmade products? Our Mill Shop is located on site here in Sudbury, stocking a range of both first and second quality fabrics and has established relationships with a wide range of customers from the general public, through arts and crafts groups to schools and colleges. Responsibilities include: • Building relationships with new and current customers • Selecting, presenting and pricing fabrics for sale • Assisting with ordering of shop supplies - coordinating with internal and external suppliers • Assisting with the control of Mill Shop inventory including the annual stock taking process
Our ideal candidate: • Will be passionate and enthusiastic about fabric and selling in a small retail environment • Will have first class customer service skills and an ability to communicate at all levels • Will be a team player with excellent time management skills
Previous retail experience is an advantage, but is not essential. More so is the desire to learn and understand the product and processes. A comprehensive induction programme along with full training will provide a solid foundation for the successful candidate. This is a part time contract, initially through to the end of June 19 but anticipated to become permanent for the right candidate. 21.5 hours total per week, Wednesday to Friday flexible between 9.30 & 16.00, Saturday 9.00 - 14.00.
