The company delivers to over 200 new apprentices every year. The company's students are highly motivated young people who are destined to work in engineering maintenance roles across a range of different employers.

The company need a talented and committed individual to deliver electrical training to school, apprentice and adult learners.

Job Role:

This position will involve training of highly motivated 16-19 year old apprentices, in company assessment of NVQ 3 Skills and some adult training work. It is important that all applicants have a clear commitment to the development of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver and assess engineering courses as per the requirements of the customer
  • To support, implement and deliver the Health and Safety policies/ procedures and individual designated roles (responsible persons) as per the Health and Safety Documented System.
  • To develop and maintain the current course materials including lesson plans and schemes of work for a range of courses.
  • To maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures (ILPS, Tracking systems etc) and ensure all relevant evidence of learning is accurately and correctly documented and completed for each learner.
  • To assist in assessing, changing curricular/ course content needs and offers plans/ new delivery methods for improvement on a regular basis.
  • To support, implement and comply with the Quality Documented System (ISO 9001).
  • To assume responsibility for meeting course and learner performance goals and own annually set Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • To provide written and verbal feedback and support to learners on a one to one or group basis.
  • To offer customer care and support/liaison to the client companies as and when required.
  • Actively partake in additional apprentice events* (eg. Outdoor activities/ Awards Evenings/ Open Days).

*This may occasionally involve working outside normal working hours

The Candidate:

The successful applicant will have;

  • Good craft/technical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills
  • More than five years industrial experience
  • Qualified to at least City and Guilds Craft certificate
  • HNC qualification or higher will be advantageous
  • Assessor and teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential as full support will be given in the development of necessary skills.
