About the Job:
The client requires an Installation and Assembly Team Leader to have a customer facing role. The role is responsible for the installation and assembly of sub-contractor supplied manufactured items, minor modification to supplied parts, prototype manufacture, maintenance of all machinery within the installation and assembly area. The role is also responsible for all Facilities Management activities required to maintain the business unit premises. To achieve this you will be responsible for;
Transitioning the current traditional workshop environment into a cost effective installation and assembly area that:
Utilises computer aided engineering technology or modern machinery as to deliver prototype mechanical components.
Provides space and appropriate tooling for vehicle, container and enclosure communication and electrical installations.
Provides assembly areas for enclosure, rack, component and project related builds.
Provides a welding and locksmith facility.
To identify, create and apply appropriate team training and mentoring packages
To create and document the installation and assembly processes required to facilitate the creation of a cost effective installation and assembly facility
Control and allocation of installation and assembly resource
Allocate installation and assembly resource as required by the Technical Services Supervisor
To act as a build manager for any assembly required.
To support in the preparation of estimates, bid documentation, specification, pricing, tender, Gate and proposal documents for new opportunities.
Produce installation and assembly documentation
To control, plan, deliver and hand-over installation and assembly
To act as the customer interface for all aspects of installation and assembly
Responsible for supervisory control
Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety including Construction (Design and Management) CDM 2015 regulations
To ensure that all installation and assembly related method statements and risk assessments are produced, approved and briefed to the installation and assembly team.
To validate and certify mechanical components and builds, through 'fit for purpose' and QA inspections
To ensure that all installation and assembly activities are undertaken in compliance with installation and assembly QMS processes.
Act as FM controller for all business unit premises and to plan, organise and facilitate all required FM activities.
To be the right fit for this Installation and Assembly Team Leader job, you will have a Mechanical Engineering HNC / HND or similar qualification and be diplomatic, assertive and a clear communicator in all forms. You will need adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations and will possess or be willing to gain a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
You will also possess (or be willing to gain) an adequate knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) 2015 regulations and must have a basic record of proven ability in CNC Setting and programming as well as a good understanding of computer aided engineering technology or modern machinery as appropriate to deliver prototype mechanical components.
Experience in vehicle re-fits is desirable as would some experience of sheet metal fabrication be.

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum DV level.
