European Financial Accountant Job
Berkshire, South East
Salary: £55000 - £70000 per annum
Our client is a highly successful technology business. They are seeking to appoint a fully qualified individual to their small finance team in this key financial accounting role. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Preparation of the annual statutory and income tax accounts for European branches and facilitate their filings within the deadlines set by the authorities.
  • Maintain the integrity of the European general ledger in terms of completeness and accuracy, reconciling back to filed accounts.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed for all accounts and areas.
  • Manage the Intercompany accounting.
  • Submission of VAT returns across Europe.
  • Monthly management accounting process.
  • To seek to minimise duplication of effort and achieve savings, at no risk to Submission of compromising the validity of the information produced
  • To undertake such continuous self-development as is appropriate to maintaining and improving the quality of the post-holder’s performance
  • Preparation of working paper files detailing schedules supporting the statutory and or income tax accounts.
  • Maintaining the Statutory Fixed assets registers and posting depreciation, prepaids and accruals that are consistent with local accounting rules.
  • Ensuring all accounts reconcile back to management records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain consistency between the general ledger and the filed accounts.
  • Prepare and file all VAT returns within the responsible territories, coordinating with third party accountants where necessary.
  • Ensure all intercompany charges are billed and settled on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all documentation is present in the local offices in compliance with local regulations.
  • Prepare and submit any return as required by local authorities.
  • Provide full assistance in the event of an audit or investigation.
  • Preparing monthly cash forecasts for Head Office.
  • Provide assistance in the annual budget process.
  • Prepare such spreadsheets, reports and undertake such ad hoc tasks as may be required by the European Financial Controller
You will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA preferred), degree educated, with a stable and progressive track record within an EMEA environment. You will have strong technical accounting skills with strong systems abilities including advanced Excel.
