Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland. The core function of the NMAHP Directorate is to support the education, training and continuing professional development of nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, health and social care chaplains and their support workers.
What You'll Do
SMMDP is seeking a high performing, highly motivated team member to lead, coordinate and contribute to the suite of programmes on behalf of the Scottish Multiprofessional Maternity Development Programme (SMMDP).
The SMMDP delivers a suite of post-registration courses developed to up-skill maternity service professionals and other associated professionals to meet the current changing focus of maternity services and care throughout Scotland. The courses are run in local centres working to a nationally agreed curriculum with administrative support from the SMMDP central office.
What You'll Bring
The successful candidate will ensure that a high and consistent standard of training is delivered in a multiprofessional environment, participating in the training of instructors and contributing to other related project work within the department. The successful candidate should have the relevant clinical knowledge to deliver the range of maternity and neonatal courses offered by the programme, and should be an experienced clinical instructor.
The post is based at Westport in Edinburgh, although extensive travel around Scotland will be required.
