How we work:
Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children in the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 370,000 children, young people and families.
We provide a short breaks service for children and young people with learning disabilities giving them the opportunity to play, have fun and socialise in a positive environment this is a vital part of our work. As a community short breaks worker you'll be working in our group which run every Saturday term time, with additional hours in school holidays where the group runs over two days. There are 2 vacancies to work in our Daventry group and one vacancy in Northampton.

What you'll need:
Good standard of education including GCSE's at grade C or above for English and Maths.
Relevant and recent experience working within an early years, school or community play work setting or other children/young people's setting.
Some experience with disability children but not essential as induction and mentoring shall be given.
Excellent communication skills, including IT
Ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to problem solve.
A positive and respectful attitude
Available to work Saturday with additional hours in school holidays
Able to work in a team.
Availability to cover at other groups if needed and be flexible.
