Our Sports News, Radio Sport and Interactive teams help make sure that every day, throughout the year our audiences our served with all the stories surrounding every sport as well as providing world class coverage of the events themselves.
The successful candidate will work in the Radio Sport department assisting in the production of sport programmes for 5live Sport and other radio outlets.
You will write scripts and copy for Radio Sport aswell as developing story ideas and creative inserts where a degree of original contribution is required; working both individually and with others to develop treatments of the highest quality. The AP role also packages and edits material using radio editing tools.
The successful candidate will need to have experience of working in radio production and be able to demonstrate strong editorial judgement and solid journalistic skills. They should also have a passion for sport and be able to write quickly, accurately and succinctly. Experience of how to find and generate sports journalism stories is also essential.
The job will often be unsupervised and require a large degree of initiative and common sense with the high editorial, journalism and production values expected by the BBC.
While this is their primary role, they may also be asked to work across different programmes, outputs or platforms.
