Due to expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Field Service Engineer to join Clark & Partner’s Mobility Service team. The working day will commence from our Head Office based in Handsworth, Sheffield and will include visits to homes of clients, hospitals, nursing homes, schools etc., whilst shadowing engineers, completing jobs on a broad range of mobility products.
Hours of work are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.18pm (39 hours), including one day’s attendance per week at Sheffield College. Rate of pay is £128.70 per week.
Tasks will include (but are not limited to):
·Undertaking all college and company training required, to successfully complete the Apprentice Scheme to an expected and agreed standard.
·Support in servicing, repairs, periodic testing / inspection and installation / commission of mobility products such as hoists, stair lifts, scooters, power chairs and beds.
·Support identifying faults and remedial action required.
·Support carrying out remedial action – replacing / repairing faulty components.
·Support sourcing relevant parts from van stock or Clark & Partner’s stores department.
·Support in collection of payments for completed work where appropriate.
·Support carrying out PAT testing on powered wheelchairs and other electrically powered equipment.
·Support in carrying out services and safety examinations based on an established series of standards.
·Working towards standards required to meet health & safety regulations and ISO quality standards.
·Ensuring all paperwork associated with the service / repair is completed accurately and comprehensively.
·Possible involvement in an out of hours’ callout rota as required, when fully competent.
·Achieving excellent customer service standards.
