Brief Description Bartley Green School require an Administrative Apprentice to join our friendly and supportive team. The role will involve working on reception and generally supporting our office staff with administrative tasks.
Full Description You will receive full training and support durinig your apprenticeship and when you complete, we are looking for someone permanent to join our team! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receptionist Duties To operate the school switchboard and forward calls as appropriate To carry out reception duties by meeting and welcoming all visitors to the School and to answer queries from pupils, parents and other agencies To record messages for staff who are unavailable and to pass them on appropriately To ensure the school’s signing-in procedures for visitors and pupils are carried through in line with security arrangements and to keep accurate records To maintain an up to date car registration/owners list and update gate codes as required To receive and sign for any deliveries arriving for school and to liaise with the Senior Finance Administrator when necessary To receive money from pupils – ticket sales for concerts etc To open and direct incoming post as required, to dispatch post on a daily basis including franking Receiving pupils reporting as sick, liaising with parents and First Aider Ensuring that recording of sick pupils is performed in line with school procedures Distribute medication as required, ensuring accurate record keeping, in line with procedures and guidance from home General Administrative Support To provide general administrative assistance to the school’s staff in the following areas: Reception, Reprographics, Attendance, Examinations, Educational Visits, Assessment and Reports, Finance, Pastoral, Curriculum, HR and Recruitment Duties to include, but not limited to: word processing, data input, fielding telephone calls, making telephone calls, filing, mailings, proof reading, correcting and collating reports, photocopying, greeting visitors, organising refreshments To follow school procedures in the areas of Reception, Reprographics, Attendance, Examinations, Educational Visits, Assessment and Reports, Finance, Pastoral, Curriculum, HR and Recruitment Other To undertake the necessary training required for the role. To ensure that the highest standards of confidentiality are maintained when dealing with information relating to staff and pupils Due to the training nature of the post it is anticipated that the role will develop and change over the 12 month period Such other duties as may be commensurate with the grade and nature of the post. SUPERVISION Responsible to the Admin Team Leader LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Plan own work to ensure the meeting of defined objectives
Qualification Requirements Good standard of English and Mathematics, A-D grade or equivalent required for the position.
