With this in mind, we currently have a fantastic part time(0.5) opportunity available for a tutor in the area of Sport to teach on the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport course as part of the 16- 18 and adult FE Level 3 Sport provision at the Nicholls Campus, Manchester.
As directed by the Head of Curriculum and/ or Departmental Team Leader the purpose of this role is to provide supervision of your curriculum area ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets. You will also be required deliver high quality, learner focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with The Manchester College`s policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to) are as follows:
-Within a Scheme of Work, develop lesson plans to ensure compliance with curriculum best practice and quality targets.
-Contribute and develop curriculum to meet local and national priorities
-Teaching - lead and support delivery and assessment of learning.
You will be required to complete all necessary administration related to the programmes.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
-Must have a teaching / assessing (as appropriate) qualification and subject specialist qualification in sport/ sport coaching/ sport science or similar field at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards)
-A Track record of effective teaching in delivering in subject specialism
-Primary school knowledge/ experience in the past year
-English & Maths - must be qualified to a minimum of Level 2
-Registration with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) is desirable.
-Relevant coaching experience in a variety of sporting activities is desirable
